First Moves at the Festival

12. International Istanbul Chess Festival begins on October 12th, Saturday after the technical meeting and the opening ceremony at Yıldız Technical University Beşiktaş Campus. Cemalettin Talum, founders of the TURSEV, TCF Istanbul Represantative Rıza Öney, Chess Club Consultant of Yıldız Tecnical University Mr. Emrah Günay attend to the opening ceremony. Mr. Cemalettin Talum gives the brief information of the Festival and underlines the social aspect of the chess.
21.000 TL total prize will be given to the winners of Category A ve Category B. 8 titled players and totaly of 250 players attend to the tournament this year, from Turkmenistan, Greece, Jordan, Slovenia, Georgia, Syria and Azerbaijan.
The games are broadcated from Yıldız Stadium.
